Cordova High Enrollment Packet

Previous School Documents

To ensure your student is placed in the correct classes and stays on track to graduate we will need the following documents from the previous school.

Withdrawl Grades
Unofficial Final Transcript
Discipline Report
Copy of most Current IEP or 504 (if the student has one)

Your Students complete file will be requested by the registrar once the enrollment packet is returned.

1 Age Verification Document: as defined by Ed code 48002 (examples but not limited to)

Certified copy of birth record or statement by the local register or county recorder certifying birth date
Baptism certificate duly attested
Passport
An Affidavit of the parent, guardian, or custodian of the minor
or, any other means of providing age of the child as proscribed by the governing board of the school district

2 Proof of residency documents: as defined Ed Code 48204.1 – Examples (but not limited to):

Property tax payment receipts
Rental property contract, lease, or payment receipts
Utility service contract, statement, or payment receipts
Pay stubs
Voter registration
Correspondence from a government agency
Declaration of residency executed by the parent or legal guardian of a pupil

Parent provide a photo ID from a government or non-governmental source

Custody Paperwork (if applicable)

Step - 2 Communication

Turn in all your documents to the registrar.

Thats it! Just turn them in!

The Registrar will accept them by email or you can drop them off at the school.

Having a hard time getting a document? Just call and we will work with you and the previous school to help your student(s) get enrolled.

*If you are coming by Cordova during summer or other school breaks, please call ahead to ensure the registrar will be available.

Step 3 - PowerSchool

Once the Enrollment documents have been verified, you will be sent a login and password to set up your Powerschool (AKA Infosnap) Parent account.

This is where you will be asked for emergency contacts, medical information, and other information required by the district.

Step 4 - You're Now a Lancer Parent

If you are continuing your Lancer journey, follow the steps listed in the Registration section.

If you are Here, that means it's registration time again. Your student(s) will be meeting with counselors and picking their classes for next year. To ensure your students get the classes they are requesting, registration must be completed on time. Please go to your Parent Portal to register.

PowerSchool

If you have questions, please contact our Registrar. Also keep an eye on our calendar for registration nights where you can receive in-person help from staff and Bilingual aids.

To request an Education Verification please submit via FAX your verification form with the following items:
- Student's full name while attending Cordova High School
- Student's date of birth
- Graduating year
- Authorizing signature from student

Student Withdrawls

Is your student changing schools? Are you leaving the Folsom Cordova Unified School District?

Don't forget to stop by and see our Registrar! We can get you the forms you need for your new school and make sure all your books have been returned. We also have a form for you to fill out so you will no longer receive those pesky attendance calls from us.

Transcript Requests

OFFICIAL OR UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS? (Which do you need?)

Official Transcripts : An official transcript is one that is signed by a school official, bears the school seal, and is in a sealed envelope. These are most often used for college applications, DMV verification, and jobs. We do not mail official transcripts to home addresses, but will mail them to colleges, scholarships, etc. Official transcripts are available for pick-up within 2 school days.

Unofficial Transcripts do not have the official seal or signature, nor are they in a sealed envelope. These are sometimes needs to provide proof of grades or enrollment

Work Permits

Work Permits during the school year will be processed through the college and career center in the library.

Summer Work Permits.

Students working during the summer are still required by state law to have a work permit. Our registration office is open year-round and will process summer work permits. The application must be filled out by the employer and student before being submitted for approval.

Please call before stopping by to ensure the registrar's office hours or to make an appointment.

Requirements for a Summer Work Permit

Have a job before enrolling in the program.
Be at least 16 years old, or a Junior or Senior in high school.
Have your parent or guardian's approval.
Have acceptable citizenship and a 2.0 GPA, as of the last grading period (quarter or semester).

**Students under 18 years of age must possess a work permit when employed**
