8th Grade Parent Orientation

Dear 8th Grade Families, 

 

As your students start their final semester of middle school, I am sure you have many questions and concerns about high school. We would like to invite you and your 8th grade students to attend our 8th grade Parent Information Night which will be held on: 

 

Thursday, January 15th at 5:30 pm 
Cordova High Performing Arts Center (PAC) 
2239 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova 

 

This meeting will introduce you to some of our wonderful teachers and staff, and provide information on the IB programs, sports teams, 9th grade orientation in August, academies, and activities. After the presentation in the PAC,there will be information tables in the cafeteria next door where you can get your questions answered, get more information on programs, and sample some delicious cookies from our Culinary Academy! See attached flyer and we hope you can join us! 

Regarding classes for next year, the Cordova High School Counselors will be meeting Mitchell students on January 20th and Mills students on January 26th, in their 8th grade science 
classes. Your child should bring home an information form on 9th grade course selection to review with you, and then they can enter their classes by logging onto PowerSchool and clicking on "class registration". Counselors will return to Mills on January 20th and Mitchell on January 30th to review students course selections in PowerSchool and help them make their entries or any necessary changes. Note that you will still need to do the online registration you do each year in PowerSchool, when that window opens, by logging onto your parent account through the PowerSchool parent portal.
