Diploma Programme

For students who would like to challenge themselves in specific subjects, we offer the following DP courses for them to choose from. 

Most courses are two-year courses that students enroll in for both their junior and senior year.

Courses are marked with an asterisk (*) are only one year.

For students who would like to challenge themselves in specific subjects, we offer the following DP courses for them to choose from. In order to qualify for the IB Certificate they must enroll in at least 3 DP courses over the course of their 11th and 12th grade years.

The Full IB Diploma is an internationally recognized diploma that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities. Students can pursue the Full IB Diploma by completing the following: 

• 6 IB classes over the course of the 11th and 12th grade
  • 3 at the Higher Level (HL)
  • 3 at the Standard Level (SL) (Optional: 2 at the SL and 4 at the HL)
• Completion of one course for each subject group, with the exception of Group 6: Visual Arts can be replaced with an additional course from Groups 3 or 4
• Completion of the IB DP Core:
  • Theory of Knowledge (one-year course) 
  • Extended Essay
  • Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) hours

Students have the opportunity to earn college credits based on their exams scores in HL courses and some SL courses, depending on the college.

All students enrolled in the Diploma Programme classes, including all SL (Standard Level) or HL (Higher Lever) are registered for the IB exams in May.

How to have Cordova High send senior scores:

As a CHS senior, you are entitled to have your IB scores sent directly to ONE college in the US, ONE college in Canada, and FOUR colleges abroad at no cost to you. In order to take advantage of this service, we need information from you about the college(s) to which you would like your scores sent. Scores sent to additional schools in the US/Canada will incur a fee.

Scores will be sent by CHS, IF and ONLY IF YOUR INFORMATION IS RECEIVED BEFORE MAY 29 (the last day of school) of your senior year. After May 29, see the IB Scores for Alumni section on this page.

How to view IB assessment scores:

1. Go to:      candidates.ibo.org
2. Use your PIN and Personal Code to login

 - Contact your IB Coordinator, Ms. Poland at spoland@fcusd.org for your login information. Please include your grad year in your email to Ms. Poland when you request your PIN and Personal code.
