Career Technical Education CTE
Career Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for College and Careers. Students learn academic and technical skills through project-based, hands-on authentic learning.
Within our CTE depart, Cordova High is also proud to offer several California Partnership Academies
Cordova High has FOUR California Partnership Academies: Agriculture, Business, Culinary, and Engineering. The CHS Career Academies are a three-year program that will prepare students to make a successful transition from school to college or to entry-level jobs. The Academies have an integrated academic and vocational curriculum, which requires a long-term agreement. In order to adequately prepare students, regular attendance is a necessity.
All of the programs include business/community partnerships. This partnership provides field trips to businesses and colleges (10th grade year), mentors from the community (11th grade year), internships (11th & 12th grade) and guest speakers in the classroom. Seniors receive job placement assistance and help with college applications. Students must participate in all program/academy functions to fully benefit from the program.
